Hybrid role between discovering what the clients needs are, designing the solution as an architect, and then moving into a tech lead role. You will be talking with the clients, so having face to face skills are very important and being able to communicate between multiple parties. This is not just a coding role!

Our client is a full-service design and development firm that offers digital solutions for their clients where they analyze, design and launch first class, data driven e-commerce websites, and apps, that provide a "best in class" user experience for their customers. Based in Chicago, they have a global client base that includes some of the most popular brands in several indsutries.

In the past decade, they have grown from a few founders to close to 200 people and they have no plans of slowing down with the United States being their highest growth market forecasted for the foreseeable future. They grew during the pandemic, their book of business is solid, their client base is stable, and now they need key leadership figures to take this company to the next level.

Description

  • Guiding engineers on proper development practices, patterns, and techniques for enterprise technologies
  • Lead Project Scoping Conversations to validate customer solution and articulate the business impact of the solution
  • Leveraging new and emerging technologies to fulfill project requirements and business objectives
  • Ability to lead Project Discovery and Design Sessions
  • Assisting in pre-sales work by detailing requirements needed to successful realize an enterprise client's vision
  • Consulting clients in the strategic direction of business solutions
  • Advising on building technical roadmaps, defining modern enterprise architecture and guiding teams to deliver it successfully
  • Participate in feasibility discussions and work with internal teams to establish a budget proposal, resource plan and a high-level timeline.
  • Work on high-level design, which will consist of vetting what we have for requirements documentation, but consider implicit requirements that are important to engineering.
  • Document requirements very carefully
  • Review design draft with key stakeholders and work with design team to make adjustments if needed
  • Make reasonable build/buy/reuse decisions.
  • Work with tech leads for brief reviews, review technical artifacts from various team members, create technical specs where necessary and do a lot of troubleshooting on the project.
  • Oversee installation, devops, builds, documentation, quality assurance, performance, and security.
  • Coordinate long term support, systems integration, and hand-off to development.
  • Reporting into our Managing Director of Engineering and Product Development

Profile

  • 10+ years of verifiable experience
  • Hands-on experience delivering cloud-based applications (preferably on AWS or Azure)
  • Extensive hands-on coding experience in full-stack Web and/or mobile development using some combination of the following (React, Angular, Node.js, python, React Native)
  • Experience in implementing highly secure and scalable architecture preferred
  • Experience in a high degree of cross functional collaboration with Sales, Engineering and Customers.
  • A complete and total mastery of how enterprise companies work and how to address their needs.
  • Proficiency in back-end technologies and frameworks
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment
