Job Description:
ISA seeks a full-time legal, risk, and compliance professional to support internal corporate business operations and external consulting projects. Internal corporate support will include research and writing related to compliance requirements, identification and management of risk, and support for the company's transactional and contracting activities. External consulting support will involve research and preparation of various deliverables that cover legal and policy considerations and recommendations for policy change. This role requires the initiative and ability to take on new projects and challenges, juggle disparate tasks, and to work well in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will be a dedicated problem-solver with demonstrated business acumen and the ability to communicate well with executive-level employees across the company. The primary work location is at ISA's office in Arlington, VA, but some telework will be permitted. This role reports to the Chief Legal Officer. Duties:
* Work cross-functionally with HR, finance, IT, contracting, security, and other corporate operational groups to identify overarching areas of risk and support compliance with relevant laws and policies
* Assist corporate staff in the development and execution of compliant processes and procedures
* Draft and review contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, NDAs, and transactional business information
* Review and develop corporate policies on a broad range of topics
* Perform general legal research on a variety of matters, including employment-related issues
* Prepare clear briefing slides and other products for ISA clients; potential to lead tasks, projects, and teams in support of client-facing work responsibilities
* Present oral briefings and presentations to ISA clients * Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of legal research, policy, and requirements related to federal contractor compliance
* Support development of legal strategy for effective decision-making across the company Other Duties:
Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time based on corporate priorities and requirements. These changes will be communicated by your supervisor. Qualifications:
* Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, and colleagues and to maintain confidentiality
* Strong organizational skills that support ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high-quality work product
* Demonstrated success in working independently to complete tasks and respond to requests as well as strong ability to collaborate with others to develop solutions and drive responsible outcomes
* Working knowledge of federal laws, regulations, and policy, including FAR and DFARS
* Ability to research and interpret state and local laws and requirements
* Strong legal research and writing skills
* Experience or interest in leading teams and projects Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with the federal government, especially the U.S. Department of Defense or Intelligence Community, and/or experience with federal contracting
* Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance and information protection matters
* Experience with personnel security and facilities security matters
* Other professional experience with risk management or compliance requirements, especially for federal government contractors
* Familiarity with federal agency policy
* Project management experience Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Clearance Required: Active TS security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance Experience Required:
Minimum 5 year of relevant work experience Education:
Juris Doctor Degree from an ABA accredited law school Certification:
