Reporting and Data Analyst
Position Summary:
The Reporting & Data Analyst in the Fundraising Division at Brandeis University Institutional Advancement is responsible for providing advanced data analysis, reporting, and actionable insights to support the university's fundraising goals and strategic initiatives. This role involves working closely with development officers, campaign managers, and other stakeholders to ensure data-driven decision-making and effective fundraising strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Salesforce CRMA and Tableau, and a deep understanding of fundraising metrics and processes.

Position Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting: (25%)
- Leverage Salesforce CRMA and/or Tableau to develop and maintain well architected visual solutions to track fundraising performance, donor engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
- Create actionable insights that allow fundraising leadership to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for fundraising improvement in support of the strategic plan.
- Develop and maintain reusable dashboard and report templates with accessible UI/UX
Data Management: (25%)
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of fundraising data by performing regular data audits, identifying gaps in the data and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with IT and data management teams to improve data collection, cleansing, storage, and retrieval processes.
- Manage the integration of data from various sources, including CRM systems, financial databases, and external data providers.
- Ensure that SFDC Local is being populated with the correct objects and fields and monitor the Sync for errors
Stakeholder Collaboration: (30%)
- Work closely with development officers, campaign managers, and other stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and provide customized solutions. Help IA division to understand what is possible
- Present findings and insights to senior leadership and fundraising teams in a clear and compelling manner.
- Train and support fundraising staff in the use of data analytics tools and best practices.
Process Improvement: (20%)
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and data analysis activities.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in fundraising analytics and data visualization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related role, preferably in a fundraising or non-profit environment.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Salesforce CRMA), SQL and SAQL, and statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python).
- Proficiency with Salesforce Sales Cloud
- Strong knowledge of fundraising metrics, donor lifecycle management, and campaign performance indicators preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Ascend) and database management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of SQL and other database query languages.
- Certification in data analytics or related disciplines.
