ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting up to 7 hours per day, 2-3 hours consecutively, when doing Holter scanning. Walking and/or standing up to 7 hours per day. Standing in 15 minute increments, walking up to 2 hour increments. Frequent use of hands/fingers to operate equipment, apply electrodes and data entry on keyboard. Frequent use of upper extremities to reposition patients, transport patients and lift supplies up to 20 lbs. When doing testing continuously pushes EKG equipment for studies, approximately 70 lbs. Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, twisting, reaching overhead for filing and reaching electrical outlets and/or phone jacks for EKG transmission. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, far vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and visual monotony when scanning.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited/approved cardiovascular program, hospital based cardiovascular education program, graduate of a medical assistant program or one year experience as a cardiology technician preferred. Demonstrates knowledge of advanced cardiac dysrhythmias.
