The Pain Specialist Pharmacist will join an organization and facility that has been recognized time and again as one of the state’s best hospitals.

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Operations, the Inpatient Pain Pharmacist will join a small, tightknit team of specialists who serve unique populations. Working alongside two PGY2 Trained Inpatient Pharmacists who specialize in management of Acute, Chronic, Break-Through, and Neuropathic Pain Control, the new Pharmacist Pain Specialist will have the opportunity to grow and contribute to an outstanding group dynamic.

The Pain Management Pharmacist will work in a unique position with this Hospital. This person will get the opportunity to work in the Inpatient Oncology Unit, supporting patients undergoing concurrent treatment plans that include invasive and non-invasive options. In addition to this, the Pain Specialist will also work on a rotating Inpatient Pain Consult Service, and have the chance to interact with a large number of physician specialists. There’s no limit to what this person will have the chance to participate in!

The new Pain Specialist Pharmacist will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of clinical and operational duties. Working as a physician consult and working independently, this person will complete pain assessments for individual patients, ensuring control for different levels and types of pain. The Pharmacist will also play a role in formulary processes by preparing monographs and performing MUEs (Medication Use Evaluations). PGY2 experience in Pain Management is preferred for this person because they’ll be leading and serving as a preceptor for PGY1 residents and pharmacy students. Strong organizational skills and an acute attention to detail will be very important.
