Job Description:

Salary Range: $200,000 - $220,000 + Sign on Bonus

Location: South San Francisco, CA (On-site)

Experience: 4+ Years

Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for:

  • Oversee technical strategies of the Electrical Engineering team
  • Mentor engineers at various career levels and help them advance in their careers
  • Participate in technical designs, and ensure team members follow procedures and design concepts
  • Institute best practices to maintain and enhance productivity and team member fulfillment
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams, project managers, administrators, clientele, and executives
  • Assist in client-facing interactions

What You Bring:

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional technical projects to successful completion
  • A solid technical background in the electrical engineering field
  • A history of circuit design, taking projects from concept through development, test, and certification into production
  • Strong understanding of testing and other DFx concepts
  • Experience using Altium or equivalent tools to create designs
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to create and implement processes for the development or test of electronic designs
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline -- e.g. Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.

  • Technology background depth, including an understanding of hardware, software, and mechanical development

Position Summary:

As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will lead a growing team by mentoring and guiding a group of electrical engineers. You will allocate team members’ work on a multitude of different projects and products, assess and grow team capability, estimate engineering effort for new projects, plan and procure the software and equipment needed for effective circuit and electrical development and test, and hire engineering resources according to company needs.

This role has a balance of management and technical responsibilities. Initially, you will spend about half of your time managing the team and the remaining time doing electrical engineering development work. As the team size grows, more time will be devoted to leading the team. This role is ideal for a person looking to move into a management role, while initially still continuing some hands-on technical work.
