Sabre is currently hiring a Cryptographic Security Engineer to support our customer in Aberdeen, MD. The selected candidate must be interested in working in a challenging, hands-on, development environment supporting the Department of Defense and other specialized customers.
As a member of a diverse engineering team, the selected candidate works closely with application development, networking, and cyber security groups to ensure that new and existing technical solutions are tested and implemented in a manner to ensure that network access and security are maintained against current and emerging threats. The Cryptographic Subject Matter Expert (SME) will ensure that cryptographic modernization products meets Army and DoD needs.
The Cryptographic Security Engineer will:
- Provide specific security expertise to engineering teams, including security testing, authentication methods, implementing encryption, logging, and secure data transfer
- Review new or modified cryptographic plans and policies
- Communicate and work with diverse teams
The Cryptographic Security Engineer will utilize their experience and working knowledge of the following to provide specific expertise:
- Key Management Infrastructure (KMI)
- Cryptographic procedures and methods
- Integration of cryptographic software into cryptographic products
- Some penetration and vulnerability assessment skills may be required
- Some familiarity with Over the Air or Over the Network Re-keying
- Cryptographic policies and planning procedures
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, or a related field is required. An addition eight (8) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Five (5) years of experience in operating and engineering cryptographic devices and distribution networks is required. The selected candidate must have a strong understanding and working knowledge of cryptographic methodologies.
The selected candidate must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
