**Utility Worker - Water Construction and Maintenance**

_This is classified as an "Hourly" position. As such, if hired, you will be considered an at-will, supplemental, full-time non-exempt employee. The end date for this position will be dictated by work demands and business needs not to exceed 24 months._

**How Will You Make an Impact?**

Colorado Springs Utilities Water Construction and Maintenance (WCM) department is responsible for maintaining physical assets (e.g., water mains, valves, stop boxes, service lines, manholes, curb stops, hydrants) used to deliver water to Colorado Springs Utilities customers. Our team is seeking an hourly **Utility Worker** to assist with maintaining water infrastructure, service levels, and customer expectations, along with helping to control costly water loss from our system within the Colorado Springs community. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support the success of a variety of highly visible water and wastewater capital projects vital to the success of our water infrastructure. Some of the additional ways in which you will make an impact include:

+ Assisting in the construction, repair, and maintenance of water systems and infrastructure

+ Operating small tractors, trucks, and trailers to assist with construction, maintenance, and/or landscape projects

+ Using hand-operated and electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools to assist with landscape construction and maintenance projects

+ Gathering equipment and parts to complete daily tasks

+ Performing corrosion surveys and installing anodes

+ Attending safety and training courses

**Who You Are**

+ Relevant and progressively responsible construction experience

+ Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license; CDL is valued but not required

+ Knowledge of general construction principles, basic mathematics, blueprints, schematics, and mechanics is valued

+ Ability to perform work safely and bring safety hazards to the attention of others

+ Ability to operate equipment including tandem dump trucks, mowers, utility trailers, wastewater maintenance equipment, water maintenance equipment, asphalt roller, jackhammer, and various pneumatic hand tools

Please note that this position requires working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour callouts as business needs demand.
