Job Description

The Manager of Data Warehouse position is responsible for leading the data warehouse team. You will be responsible for working with cross functional IT and business teams to build and maintain a scalable data warehouse and business intelligence platform.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager of Data Warehouse participates in the design, development, implementation, review, and monitoring of all analytical database environments. The Manager works closely with the software development team, the OLTP team, and the QA team to ensure that each has the tools needed to run efficiently and effectively and to provide guidelines and recommendations on best practices in the field.

Proactively driving excellence, innovation and team performance through a progressive people and project management
Managing and monitoring individual and team progress towards delivery and embedding a culture of ongoing feedback and knowledge sharing
Collaboration with colleagues and advising senior management on opportunities to improve such as implementing new processes and emerging technologies
Building capacity within and across the team through a strong focus and support of data engineering learning and development activities
Database architecture and design of data warehouse subject areas and OLAP cubes
Hands on SQL development and support of current ETL processes, sharing in responsibilities for monitoring the data warehouse loading process
Troubleshooting and resolve of data issues in production systems
Communication and collaboration with business users and project managers to resolve business problems and create solutions
Application of technical experience to suggest better solutions to new and existing problems
Involvement with other IT departments providing systems communication processes
Identification of software solutions needed for new projects
Weekly reporting to PMO on project status and issues
Design, development, and implementation of ETL jobs based on business requirements
Creation and implementation of new environments based on the needs of the business
Design and implementation of data systems integration
Control and manage the scope of all project-related activities
Support to the Director of IT Applications through preparation of reports, emails, and correspondence
Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of data warehousing principles and concepts
Strong coding experience using SQL, Power BI and SQL Server preferred.
Development experience with BI and ETL/ELT tools such as Power BI, SSIS, SSA
Experienced in best practices of data warehousing and SDL
Ability to be client facing and be able to help internal customers determine their requirements and set delivery expectations
Experience managing a team independently with little oversight
Excellent project management skills
Creative and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and with other team members as needed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for varying levels of audiences

Education and/or Experience:
4+ years of experience in data warehousing, data lake / OLAP experience
Multidimensional database architecture and design experience
SQL programming experience
2+ years managing data teams
Experience working with cloud technologies including Azure, AWS, GCP a plus
5+ years working with Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server, Power BI, SSIS, and SSAS
In-depth knowledge of ETL methodologies
Experience of working at a senior level, contributing to a management team and leading and managing a team of engineers toward growth and success
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent
