The AIO is responsible for the relationships between local market senior executives, business leaders and the regional information technology (IT) organization. As such, the incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining active relationships with C-level executives, business unit leaders, and members of their teams. 

Act as a trusted advisor and partner to ensure all executive leaders can, in partnership with the AIO, make confident decisions about the application of IT within their units and across the enterprise. 
Coordinates IT services to ensure a seamless customer experience across the IT organization and ensures IT capabilities are delivered reliably, sustainably, cost effectively and securely. Ensures IT contributions are delivered with agility based on changing business objectives, goals and strategies. Fosters business-oriented and digital-ready culture, mindsets and practices.

This position will provide information on industry trends and legislative changes in healthcare technology and the impact on information systems. This role will also consult with responsible departments and IT regional leadership to ensure appropriate security (physical, infrastructure, network, and application) controls are in place. Collaborates with regional IT leadership and local business partners to define and execute the business strategy.

The AIO will facilitate the local IT governance function, Business Continuity Plan  and ensure all IT development projects and infrastructure are aligned with strategic business plans and are technically sound and cost-effective.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction Setting:

  • Consults with internal business units or line-of-business leaders to assess and anticipate current and future information and technology requirements
  • Articulates IT’s business value by defining how IT will contribute to business goals, ensuring IT plans and operating models are integrated with the business planning process
  • Maintains currency on new technologies and platforms. Provides direction and input on what emerging technologies should be introduced, assimilated, and integrated within the enterprise to ensure IT capabilities respond to the needs of the enterprise’s business strategy
  • Forecasts business' future technical and operational information needs by applying data driven analytical approach to influence strategic decision-making with a focus on revenue growth and service expansion opportunities
  • Partners with Executive Leadership to develop and define the technology strategy
  • Articulates IT’s business value by defining how IT will contribute to business goals, ensuring IT plans and operating models are integrated with the business planning process
  • Provides strategic direction and serves as a liaison to ensure technology or process owners have access to the required information and training for effective system or process operations
  • Oversees technologies, systems solution design, data, and metrics to ensure alignment with the organization's vision, goals, and objectives
  • Ensures alignment, coordination, and appropriate representation with other regional or national initiatives

Service and Product Delivery:

  • This role oversees the development, maintenance, tracking, and reporting of relevant IT performance metrics (e.g., SLA, system availability, data quality, customer service, and financials). and the delivery of analytics to evaluate and ensure efficient, cost effective operational solutions that support systems processes and functional requirements, as well as the resolution of problems in technology and business solutions
  • Act as a Champion, supporting implementation of corporate and industry standards as well as development methodologies, e.g. Agile to increase responsiveness and growth
  • Oversees the implementation of cross-initiative technology & business process integration
  • Provides leadership by functioning as the key liaison and/or escalation point for business system, data, Business Continuity Planning and/or process initiatives
  • Partners with departments and IT leaders to influence and establish cross-functional and/or cross divisional task forces to identify and document functional requirements, workflow, information sources and system specifications

Functional Management:

  • In partnership with IT leaders and Business partners, designs and implements an IT–business engagement model to identify and shape demand and align IT’s offerings with business needs
  • Directs the operation of multiple units and/or departments by identifying customer and operational needs; analyzing resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; gaining cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements; obtaining and distributing resources; setting standards and measuring progress; removing obstacles that impact performance; guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly; and ensuring products and/or services meet customer requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies
  • Collaborates in regional systems and business process activities
  • Negotiates agreements on deliverable due dates, requirements, and resources with leadership
  • Oversees the development and implementation of effective resource capacity planning, demand management, and workforce planning

  • Contributes to building the next generation of leaders and contributes to enterprise-level goals for talent development, diversity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrates continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives and ensuring performance management guidelines and expectations drive business objectives and results
  • Consults on the integration of application systems regarding their operational and training implications
  • Ensures departments maintain a knowledge repository of current technology and business processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (4+ years of additional experience as stated in the minimum qualifications will be accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • 10+ years of professional experience in information systems management at a senior level
  • 5+ years of experience working with executive leadership (e.g. Vice President level and above)
  • 5+ years of technology experience from within a healthcare organization
  • 3+ years of experience managing operating and/or capital budgets
  • 3+ years of experience overseeing projects or programs requiring the integration of cross-functional technology and/or business solutions
  • 3+ years of experience building and executing corporate data strategy
  • 3+ years of experience as a people manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in fields related to business or computer science
  • Experience working for a managed care organization
