About Carvana

At Carvana, we sell cars, but we are not salespeople. We have made it our mission to create a hassle-free way for people to buy and sell cars. We saw a huge problem with how much of a headache it is to buy a car the traditional way, so we committed ourselves to put customer satisfaction at the core of our business, we have built a no-pressure, no-haggle online car buying experience that saves our customers time and money. Customers can search through thousands of vehicles online, see full 360-degree views of both the interior and exterior of the vehicles before deciding to go through the purchasing process. Our Customer Advocates will then either deliver the purchased vehicle to our customer’s driveway using one of our kick-ass one car haulers, or they will meet our customers at one of our amazing coin-operated Vending Machines.

About the team and position

Carvana’s Market Operation department is known for its team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborating with leadership, peers, and direct reports to drive meaningful results.
  • Working cross-functionally with groups company-wide, including Logistics, Product, Inspection Centers, People Operations, and Inside Advocate Operations.
  • Formulating strategies and tactical plans that are cost-effective, efficient, and realistic and implementing them across multiple HUBs to elevate the customer experience.
  • Motivating, inspiring, and leading a team of Senior Managers based in various locations.
  • Analyzing problems skillfully.
  • Managing work plans and structured processes for direct reports, while sustaining a thriving culture that embodies our vision and values.
  • Supporting leadership in annual business planning, organizational structuring, and staffing.
  • Partnering with managers in presenting a strategic vision and listening to feedback/improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of operational experience preferred and 3+ years of experience managing managers required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including clear, articulate, and confident written and verbal communication, specifically with remote direct reports.
  • The ability to produce excellent presentations and proposals.
  • Strong business analysis and project management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects at once.
  • Experience interviewing and hiring quality candidates at a managerial level for an organization.
  • Ability to travel (up to 75%).

Other requirements

To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • The ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours).
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Requires high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, twist, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat.
  • Requires the grasping, carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling of items up to 50lbs.
  • Frequent driving requires excellent visual activity and manual dexterity.
  • Requires to work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stay in stationary potions for extended periods of time (when driving) up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Frequently communicates with customers and must be able to exchange accurate information.
