Front Desk Manager

Job Summary

The Front Desk Manager ensures the effortless and seamless movement of guests in and out of the hotel, while providing exceptional levels of guest service through the guests' stay by coordinating all Front Office activities of the hotel. The Front Desk Manager promotes an atmosphere of doing "the right thing" by modeling and communicating the hotel's mission, vision, and values.

Responsible for the supervision of the Front Desk staff and the day-to-day operations of the Front Desk including daily management of inventory, rates, handling guest inquiries, billing questions, guest relations, hiring, training, scheduling, directing all Front Desk team members, and other duties. Ensures that established procedures are completed in accordance with policy and procedure, such as utilizing proper public relations techniques, handling guests both courteously and professionally, and establishing proper identification and credit for all transactions.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and two years of hotel front desk experience that includes front desk management experience (Front Desk Supervisor / Manager, Assistant Front Office Supervisor / Manager).

Problem resolution experience and skills. Leadership experience. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals. Familiarity with and ability to utilize a computer, telephone, and key card writer.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Micros Opera PMS knowledge. Experience working in an organized work environment. Ex perience in a full-service hotel environment.

Working Conditions / Demands

Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with guests and associates. Ability to visually see computer and guests. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift heavy luggage and push and pull luggage carts as needed.
