The New York Post is seeking a detailed, deadline-oriented Photo Assistant to support its Alexa Magazine team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is ready to swing into action. The ideal candidate should be able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Time management skills are essential, with the ability to prioritize tasks by urgency and time to completion.

Please note: This is a full-time (M-F, 10am-6pm) temporary position running through May 2023.

Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

* Assisting the Photo Editor with Photo research, Bulk batch processing and Digital asset management
* Knowledge of digital tools and image handling software including Photoshop, and the ability to batch edit in Bridge or Photo Mechanic, are required
* Uploading images for Print into our DAM, creating project folders, organizing content, marking selects for production, etc.
* Optimizing images further for web
* Sourcing photography via photo agencies and publicists, with content spanning fashion, lifestyle, art, entertainment + luxury real estate
* Keep track of and input photo/production credits for publication
* Providing a range of administrative support for special projects as they arise

The ideal candidate will have:

* Knowledge of photography
* Strong visual sensibility
* Excellent organizational + communication skills
* Ability to problem solve and multi-task
* Experience in a magazine (or similar platform) photo department
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Drive, DAM Systems, Airtable, WordPress
* Fashion, Beauty or other Luxury Consumer Good experience a plus!
* Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline/field preferred

Note: The NY Post has returned to office in a hybrid work model.

Salary Range: $31,200- $125,000
