IT Technician

One of the world’s leaders in materials science, our client has an opening for a IT Technician to work onsite in Corning, NY.   While this is a 6+ month contract position it has the potential to extend to 12 months.  


1. Beginner/intermediate MS Excel

2. Hands on mechanical aptitude

3. Technical degree (AAS or higher)


Primary responsibility is to support monitoring of kiln equipment and firing process for the Division Engineering Firing Center which is a 24/7 operation. Also support of engineering experiments including ware handling & processing, measurements, prep work, sample tracking, data collection & entry and minor preventive maintenance work.

Requires moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job and a familiarity with terminology and procedures. Follows previously defined procedures. Refers atypical or complex problems to others. Works well under limited supervision. Provided instructions for routine work. Recommends actions to improve efficiency. Able to perform duties within prescribed timeframes and maintain confidentiality. Contacts are primarily within the immediate work group.

Education: 2 year technical degree highly preferred

Experience: 1-3 Years
