Salary Range: $102,876.00 - $139,186.00 Salary
Description
Job Summary: Experienced Engineer in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components for various types of products in the HVAC market. Capable of handling multiple large-scale and/or highly technically advanced projects through interaction with multiple groups and departments across the company.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
* Subject matter expert in HVAC&R product design, development and testing.
* Is involved in mentoring other engineers and technical training efforts for the whole organization.
* Supports various projects across different departments and teams.
* Capable of providing input and guidance regarding overall projects, department, and/or company direction.
* Coordinates and collaborates with peers, leaders, and managers across departments to ensure projects are progressing and on track.
* Produces written reports, project status updates and presentations of exceptional quality and high technical level.
* Uses computer software to design refrigeration systems.
* Selects refrigeration components to meet product requirements and ratings.
* Evaluates new products through testing and meetings with potential vendors.
* Develops and reviews test plans to ensure the product meets the design requirements.
* Works closely with the Product and Testing Engineering teams to generate Product Development Schedules.
* Analyzes test data to determine the product meets DOE, ASHRAE, and AHRI requirements.
* Communicates with the Product Engineering team to develop design standards and specifications.
* Confers with more experienced engineers and/or engineering management to complete assigned projects.
* Provides complete bill of material by defining when, where, and why parts are used.
* Reads and reviews electrical diagrams.
* Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.
* Travels, when necessary, for third party testing or product review at field test sites.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree(s): ABET Accredited Engineering Degree
License(s): None
Certification(s): None
* Four-year ABET accredited degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree in Applied Sciences.
* 10+ years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
* An advanced degree in a relevant field could be considered toward experience in the field of HVAC&R.

* Able to operate independently with minimum supervision
* Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
* Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
* Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem solving abilities.
* Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.
* Works effectively in a team environment.
* Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
Essential Physical Functions:
* Lift up to 50lbs.
* Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
* Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
