Human Resources Coordinator

This position provides assistance and support to the Assistant Director-Human Resources and the Human Resources Department in areas such as payroll, recruitment, employment, data analysis, staff relations, personnel records management, and training and staff development. Specifically, this position is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and serving as the back-up for monthly payroll as a People Admin super user or Subject Matter Expert (SME). Additionally, it involves completing various administrative assignments that require independent thought and judgment.
Examples of Work Performed
Essential Duties:
Payroll Duties:
Process biweekly payroll in accordance with policies and guidelines set forth by local, state, and federal laws.
Facilitate correct ORG management structure and cost center information in the payroll system.
Utilize, review, and make updates based on WebTop daily reports.
Administer college-wide training on bi-weekly employment processes.
Coordinate work study information between Financial Aid, payroll system, supervisors, and students.
Produce Biweekly temporary employee letters.
Manage student job opportunities on HR website.
Cross-train and serve as back-up for monthly payroll.
Generate and analyze reports and payroll data as requested.
Responsible for Biweekly Payroll Manual and Biweekly Payroll Guidelines documents.
Applicant and Position Management Duties:
Serve as subject matter expert for the Applicant Tracking and Position Management system.
Provide training and support for all ranges of ATS users.
Assist with various functions including account administration, job descriptions, modification requests, recruitment, vacancies, search support, and ad placement.
Human Resources Duties:
Administer EHA Wellness.
Update EHA (Education Health Alliance) Program with each new hire or termed FT employee.
Distribute EHA Program information to campus.
Setup and maintain new Biweekly hiring files efficiently for personnel functions.
Administer annual trainings as required.
Process criminal background checks and driving record checks as requested.
Assist with various Human Resource functions including evaluations, staff relations, personnel records management, training, and staff development as needed.
Serve as backup for benefits overviews and support for faculty and professional contracts and amendments.
Secondary Duties:
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Assist in management of HR website and employee database.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree or two years of professional experience that enables the individual to perform the duties and responsibilities for this position.
Customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, human resources, labor relations, or related field.
Knowledge of general principles of human resources administration, federal and state laws.
Three or more years of customer service experience.
Proficiency in computerized systems necessary for the position responsibilities including SAP and PeopleAdmin, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Experience with Board of Trustees Policies, collective bargaining agreements, and College policies and procedures.
Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the ability to use a computer, calculator, telephone, keyboard, and/or various types of office equipment. Must be able to effectively communicate in verbal and written formats and satisfactorily perform the functions of this position.

Salary Information: $40,000 - $45,755.
