The focus of this position is to provide strategic communications support within a fast-paced environment for a Department of Homeland Security client. The candidate will support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) with strategic planning initiatives, including program analysis, stakeholder coordination and communication, program performance reporting, and performance management processes. This individual will serve as a key point of contact for the client to gather input and coordinate with other team members to ensure project activities are appropriately meeting both internal team member and external client expectations. This will include independently managing workload and tasks, as well as ensuring delivery of high-quality deliverables. High level job duties include:
• Responsible for the creation, implementation, and coordination of the annual OPR Strategic Communications plan• Provide expertise and guidance on leading strategic communications efforts, identifying stakeholders, avenues and methods for communication, and analyzing communications gaps• Create regular and recurring messaging for employees and external partners• Develop reference materials, guidance, repository of information regarding strategic communications• Develop and maintain content on internal collaboration (Sharepoint) site• Create and publish quarterly newsletter• Support other strategic communications initiatives as required.
*Minimum of 5 years of experience*General management consulting experience - client facing*Ability to lead and work alongside senior level leaders*Demonstrated experience in strategic communications*Experience in website content/design and SharePoint*Organized, flexible, adaptable, team oriented, and able to operate effectively in ambiguous situations*Ability to secure a public trust clearance*Bachelor's or higher degree related to the scope of the contract
