Manufacturing Engineer

CB Est Salary: $73K - $120K/Year
Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Chesterfield MO

* Support continuous improvement initiatives with lean manufacturing and six sigma tools
* Maintain production process compliance with applicable regulatory, company, safety, and environmental protection standards
* Contribute to new manufacturing process development to increase production capacity, enable future product technology introduction, decrease cost of production, and maintain high quality
* Support machining, assembly, packaging, clean room and quality processes and equipment to reduce downtime, defects, and improve throughput

Main tasks

* Ensure the transition from project to product, in association with R&D department, and implement the necessary actions to enable manufacturing.
* Develop production process for mass production of new product based on process concept developed with R&D, assuring compliant and effective production
* Implement necessary tools, production equipment, measurement devices or software and validate them.
* Define in process inspection criteria according to validation result (PQ).
* Jointly with production and QM/QC update or create necessary documentation and procedures to insure consistent, compliant and efficient production. This includes process parameters, inspection instruction, specification tables.
* Provide input for master data update (ERP): bill of material and routine with cycle time and yield rate
* Provide training to production staff.

* Development of new manufacturing technology to increase production capacity, enable future product technology introduction and decrease cost of production maintaining high quality and environmental protection and work safety standards.
* Identify improvement potentials for production processes (capacity analysis, lead time analysis) and cost of production (labor efficiency, material yield rate, other costs).
* Develop new technology in a structured approach based on business case analysis.
* Integrate best practices regarding safety and ergonomics in production workstations.

* Performance improvement of installed manufacturing technology at the Chesterfield Site applying continuous improvement, lean, 6 sigma or other methods.
* Improve Overall Equipment Efficiency of existing manufacturing equipment by means of a structured approach (reduce gap between real output and theoretical output), jointly with production
* Optimize capacity of existing manufacturing equipment (increase theoretical output).
* Continuously track production capacity.

Leadership

* Support to create and maintain engineering strategic instruments such as capacity plans, project plans, procedures, knowledge management, continuous improvement, lifecycle management
* Support to create engineering standards as required

Requirements:

BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanics, Applied Mechanics, Physics, Material, etc.)

MUST HAVE WORK EXPERIENCE - 2 or more years working in manufacturing of medical devices or other regulated industry, in addition to a BS Degree

Must have knowledge/experience in project management

International work experience a plus

Hands-on skills in problem solving

Preferred Lean, 6 Sigma knowledge
