The Residential Therapist performs individual, group and family therapy and/or psychosocial rehabilitation services, and develops appropriate mental health treatment plans. The Residential Therapist is part of the client's treatment team and is responsible for providing information and feedback regarding the client's behaviors and responses to interventions to the treatment team. The therapist documents all service according to Department of Mental Health, Penny Lane and Joint Commission guidelines.
The Residential Therapist possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills when working with clients, outside agencies, and co-workers. When in a client's group home, the Residential Therapist will employ a calm demeanor and good ethical and professional boundaries. Excellent clinical skills are used to assess the appropriate level of care for clients and stabilize clients in crisis. Teaming, collaborating and coordination of care with all Penny Lane staff, DCFS, DMH, and other outside agencies is crucial. This position requires flexibility, excellent time management skills and the ability to manage responsibilities efficiently.
Position Location: North Hills, CA
Salary Range: $61,000 up to $68,500 per year
(Salary range includes yearly Residential Differential)
- Must be licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology Ph.D., Psy.D., LCSW or LMFT.
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in the behavioral sciences field.
- Post master's experience working with children, adolescents and families.
- Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance. Must have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company. Must have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.
