Job Details

The primary role of this position is to support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing, supervising, and executing all plant operations. This includes aiding the Maintenance Manager in the following areas:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervising and guiding maintenance department personnel to ensure they understand their roles and function effectively as a support unit for production.
  • Coordinating with all departments on maintenance issues.
  • Managing, mentoring, and continually developing department mechanics.
  • Ensuring the daily/weekly maintenance plan is executed to acceptable standards.
  • Identifying opportunities and selecting methods for optimizing or upgrading existing equipment.
  • Implementing system installations to minimize production downtime and improve safety while being cost-efficient.
  • Managing building systems maintenance and repairs to provide superior employee comfort, safety, and productivity.
  • Reviewing and evaluating the performance of existing assets to identify systemic issues.
  • Inspecting the construction and installation process.
  • Coordinating projects with the maintenance staff.
  • Following and enforcing safety procedures and ensuring all required training is completed on time.
  • Supervising and training maintenance staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling preventative maintenance work assignments.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • A high school diploma and relevant years of experience are required. An associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance and electrical experience. Experience with PLC and in the food manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing a maintenance team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • The ability to bring a maintenance team together, develop all levels of maintenance technicians, and work in a team environment within a diverse workforce.
  • Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is a plus.
  • A strong sense of job ownership and accountability with effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required.
