DocAssist medical scribes experience firsthand the interaction between providers and patients. They observe the entire process including history and physical, diagnostic interpretation, and disposition. We currently have exciting opportunities available for medical scribes in a number of locations!ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY
A medical scribe's role is to accompany healthcare providers and document the entire provider-patient intervation, including but not limited to, history, physical exam, diagnostic interpretation and disposition in the electronic medical record. A medical scribe helps maximize the provider's time spent with patients, as well as, overall departmental efficiency by lessening the load of clerical work. A medical scribe also coordinates with departmental resources regarding orders, tests, and results. Looking for candidates who are self-motivated, proactive, dependable, have a passion for medicine, great interpersonal skills, and are able to multi-task. This position is not an internship.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *Record details of chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past medical history, social history, family medical history, disease risk factors, medications and allergies.Record details of physical exam, including pertinent positives and negatives, noted abnormalities and patient general condition. If orders are not completed in a timely fashion or if results are incomplete, investigate causes and solutions.Other duties as delineated by the provider within the medical scribe’s scope of practice.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:High school diploma and, preferably, at least one year of college in the area of Pre-Health Studies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviationsUnderstanding of the physical exam process and ability to record exam detailsProficient typing skills and ability to record information accuratelyComputer proficiency and ability to learn new applications quicklyCommunication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with multiple members of the healthcare teamProfessional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations with respect to patients and families
