We are currently seeking a Patient Account Representative to work with our Business Office team in the first hospital of its kind in our area.
The Patient Account Representative (PAR) is an integral part of the Business Office team and is responsible for the effective and creative use of proven follow-up techniques, and self-directed initiative, to bill and collect payments and resolve outstanding account balances. The PAR is responsible for gathering and communicating critical information which ensures that cash collections are maximized while the level of outstanding accounts receivable is maintained at or below defined targets which will enable the hospital to meet all known payer requirements and thereby minimize the risk of payment reduction or denial.Job Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent with some college courses in business or health care-related field preferred
1. Two years of related accounting and/or customer service experience in a healthcare environment required, or a combination of education, training, and/or experience in a healthcare environment.
2. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and HMO contracts as well as accounts receivable collection techniques is desired.
CPR, First Aid, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation certification provided by INBH
