The Hilton Columbus/Polaris, located in the vibrant Polaris community, is currently seeking a full time Catering Manager for our 252 Room AAA Four Diamond property with over 15,000 square feet of meeting/event space.
The ideal candidate would need to be detail-oriented, sales driven, and dedicated to our clients' needs and expectations. This is achieved through excellent communication skills, creative and detailed planning, and commitment to meeting and exceeding our clients' goals and expectations. Responsibilities include:
- Sell and detail your own groups in your market segments;
- Solicit new accounts;
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing accounts;
- Travel to meet with or call individual corporate clients by telephone to solicit annual, weekday and weekend business;
- Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services;
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients;
- Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events;
- Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of your events and meetings;
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly Catering/Sales reports;
- Assess client needs, negotiate pricing and provide overall guest satisfaction;
- Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy;
- Present a professional appearance and manner at all times.
As an associate of the Hilton Columbus/Polaris, you will also be an associate of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, one of the nation's largest and fastest growing hospitality management companies. As a full time associate you will be eligible for partially employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 100% employer paid life insurance at one times your annual salary available on the first of the month after 60 days of employment. You will also be eligible for participation in our 401K program after 6 months of employment, during monthly enrollments, with a match of 50 cents on the dollar up to 6% and a 5 year progressive vesting schedule. You will also accrue vacation and personal time each paycheck at a rate of five days of vacation and four personal days after one year (these accruals are based on the average hours you work.) After three months of employment you can begin utilizing any accrued personal time and after six months of employment you can begin utilizing any accrued vacation time. Full time associates also receive holiday pay for seven paid holidays a year. Every associate of ours also enjoys free parking, discounted hotel rooms within the Hilton brand and with Crescent Hotels & Resorts' properties, as well as a free employee meal program.
Upon offer of employment candidates must be willing to submit to social security verification, criminal background check, and urinalysis drug screening. MVR checks may also be conducted if the position requires the associate to operate a company vehicle.
The company does not offer relocation for this position.
