Job Description

Job Summary

Maintenance compliance engineer will be responsible for establishing compliance program for all the injection molding systems and auxiliaries across the network. He/She will be responsible for timely execution of different projects and improved system performance. This position will report to manager of injection compliance.

Detailed Description

Maintenance compliance system

Preventative maintenance

  • Establish preventive and predictive maintenance program related to injection molding assets within the network (PM scripts, work orders, SOP's and best practices).
  • Conduct onsite visits and validate machine configurations / machines' maintenance requirements as per OEM recommendations.
  • Implement safety policies, correct lubrication procedures and best PM practices across all plants.
  • Work with vendors and plant teams to optimize maintenance practices and improve available machine run time.
  • Identify opportunities to implement predictive maintenance, CI initiatives and improve part quality.
  • Manage bi-weekly CI calls to provide support to the plants and accelerate issue resolution with the help of vendors.

Conduct CAV (Equipment Acceptance Tests) for new systems

  • Establish KPIs to evaluate equipment performance as per purchase agreement during new system installation and acceptance trials. Ensure the systems are delivering desired throughput at design speed and per required product quality.
  • Provide plant support to identify areas of opportunity for continuous reliable production.
  • Follow up with equipment manufacturers and plant teams for systematic closure of action items observed during acceptance trials. Provide visibility to the management team regarding critical network wide system issues.

Preform / Cap Inspection

  • Design sustainable program to complete periodic preform and cap inspections at predefined intervals.
  • Complete preform and cap inspection with the help of different metrology equipment and identify non-compliance injection molded parts.
  • Analyze the data with the help of different applicable software and present it to management team.
  • Review the data and establish the correlation between part quality defects and system's health or condition.

Project Execution

  • Help in executing various projects related to light weight conversion, new part introduction etc.
  • Complete technical assessment of given projects, perform ROI analysis and foresee any issues with project execution.
  • Work closely with plant teams, cross functional teams and vendors to establish timeline, different milestones in the projects and success criteria.

Vendor Management

  • Manage the performance of injection molding vendors/OEM and provide timely feedback to improve system performance.
  • Work with vendors to evaluate new technology/upgrades on our assets and give feedback to upper management.

Work Experience/KSA's

  • Required:
    • 0-2 year(s) - Experience in Engineering or Manufacturing Industry
    • 0-2 year(s) - Experience in Injection Molding or Food / Beverage Industry

  • Willing to travel a minimum of 35-40%
  • Preferred:
    • 3-5 years - Experience in Bottling / injection molding industry, continuous improvement projects
    • 3-5 years - Experience in Position including maintenance compliance experience

Competencies

  • Intermediate level of knowledge in plastics, PET processing and injection molding.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects, Visio, etc.
  • Able to translate data into recommendable actions for the use of senior management
  • Self-motivated with a proven record of taking initiative
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to execute tasks in a dynamic and ever-changing environment and work effectively with a diverse workforce.

Education

  • Minimum Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing , plastics etc. )or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Preferred:
    • Master's Degree in Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience

Foreign Language

  • Required: None Required,
  • Preferred: Elementary Proficiency, Spanish
