DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Municipal Engineering in Northern CA. The Senior Project Manager, develops Michael Baker’s municipal and transportation presence with a primary focus on City, County and Regional Transportation Planning Agencies 
 
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
•Develops business in transportation and traffic engineering in collaboration with other Michael Baker leaders.
•Assists in design-build pursuits including strategic pursuit planning, stakeholder outreach, proposal development and project management execution for project delivery as may be warranted.
•Develops and maintains client, stakeholder and teaming partner relationships.
•Works closely with the Michael Baker Northern California Offices and  Infrastructure and the Transportation National and Regional Practice Leaders in pursuit identification and strategies, agency and public outreach, and allocation/management of technical resources.
•Identifies and leverages partnership opportunities, builds knowledge in government relations, protocol and processes and develops strategic relationships with key elected officials, industry leaders, agency management leaders and colleague firms through collaboration with the Business Development Associate.
•Maintains a solid foundation of technical knowledge and develops knowledge of internal (Michael Baker)/external (subconsultants/agencies) technical resources.
•Becomes an active participant in local professional organizations such as WTS, APWA, ASCE, ITE or ACEC and works towards securing a leadership role on the Board(s) or Committee(s). Participates in other visible industry roles to maintain a high profile for the firm, practice, department, and individually.
•Deliver projects per agreed to plan, budget, program and quality objective
•Lead, assign, and review work of the project delivery team and provide technical guidance and oversight for the design for transportation projects; check work and progress and identify changes of scope and additional services.
•Builds relationships with other managers in the firm and with other key managers company wide. Refreshes past knowledge and stays apprised of current representative services and projects for Michael Baker in Environmental, GIS, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Structures, Surface Water, Surveying, Transportation, Water Resources; Recruits and attracts individuals to the firm and helps to build team members’ careers.  
•As appropriate, collaborates with Northern California Transportation leadership with regards to project pursuit opportunities.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
•California Professional Engineer’s (PE) license
•15 years of transportation engineering experience with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership
•Demonstrated supervisor and mentoring skills
•This is a highly visible position internally and externally that requires strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills, as well as problem-solving abilities. 
•Strong track record of overseeing successful project delivery
•Ability to work in a dynamic environment and conduct multi-tasking efforts
