Guidehouse's Decarbonization Solutions team works with global corporations, energy companies, financial institutions, and governments to deliver on a decarbonized energy future. We support our clients and their stakeholders as they envision and prepare for this future by combining our market knowledge, objective modelling capabilities, and deep technical skills with strategic perspectives on decarbonization planning.

As a Climate Risk and Resiliency expert within the Infrastructure Resilience & Energy System's team, you will help to identify and build new, transformational offerings for our clients as they relate to climate change and resilience. Assignments may include defining climate scenarios and indicators, assessing physical and transitional risks and opportunities, quantifying the financial impacts of climate risks, and designing and implementing climate mitigation and resiliency programs.

In this role you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills at a fast pace. In addition to hands-on experience, formal training programs will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed. You will contribute to complex projects and will learn about project management by managing smaller projects.

Consultants support project teams both at client sites and internally. Responsibilities will include client management, solution implementation and generation of project results. As a consultant, a key function of your role will be to create and present quality deliverables that support essential project workstreams. You will gather and analyze data, identify gaps and trends, and make recommendations related to baseline performance and structure, as well as established best practices and benchmarks. As a consultant, you will follow a clearly defined career path and continue to deepen your specialized industry knowledge and consulting skills. As you develop project management skills and leadership abilities, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Senior Consultant level.

We are looking for someone with a passion. Key responsibilities for this position include:

+ Working directly with external climate science modeling partners to perform comprehensive climate risk and opportunity assessments.

+ Developing methodologies to assess the economic and financial impacts of climate change at a macroeconomic and microeconomic scale.

+ Preparing and presenting strategic climate analysis, reports, and other documents for internal and/or external client use.

+ Supporting clients in developing sustainability reporting (such as CDP, TCFD, ESG etc.) for climate-related financial disclosures.

+ Acting as a Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expert for client workshops, meetings, and interviews.

+ Providing Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expertise for sales and delivery efforts.

+ Expected to assist with client deliverables end-to-end, prioritize and allocate tasks, and work within team environments for multiple complex projects simultaneously.

+ Performing technical and economic analyses; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management

+ Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations



+ Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years

+ Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree (Must still be enrolled in an accredited degree program in 2022 and graduate by Summer of 2023)

+ Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the country

+ No sponsorship is available for this position


+ Degree/Majors Preferred: Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental), Business, Economics, and/or related to Environment or Sustainability

+ Interest in climate change consulting for utilities

+ Familiarity with economic and financial analysis and research

+ Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment

+ Possesses strong oral and written communication skills

+ Heightened attention to detail

+ Excellent interpersonal skills with an interest in learning more about the legal and/or contracts administration field

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

A reasonable estimate for this position ranges from 70,000-77,000 USD depending upon geographic location, experience, and degree type.
