Key Responsibilities:

Data Center Automation Senior Engineer will drive the streamlining of processes through automation related to monitoring mechanical, electrical and Internet of Things (IoT) of the data center. This position is responsible for ensuring the Data Center Facilities team is more proactive, rather than reactive to issues within critical infrastructure by automation of Data Center & Critical Facilities provisioning and inventory management (DCIM). This role is also accountable for maintenance and improvements of logic for tools such as Sunbird software suite, Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Tenant Automation Systems (TAS) for United's critical Data Center infrastructure. This role also works closely various vendors to ensure the core systems are current and functioning optimally.

Job overview and responsibilities

Maintain and update code logic for various automation systems (IoT) related to mechanical and electrical environments.

Monitor, update and maintain BAS, TAS, DCIM, Environmental systems, inclusive of OS systems (Windows and Linux).

Partner with other teams in Digital Technology, Corporate Real Estate (CRE) and Tech Ops to create and drive more automation opportunities.

Vendor interactions, project management and oversight.

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

* Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
* 3+ years of demonstrated ability in a critical building automation system, or related field
* Data Center Facilities systems experience
* Experience directing projects inclusive of workforce, parts, financial budget, and time management
* Well versed in NEC and NFPA-75 rules and regulations.
* Tridium Systems BMS
* Automated logic control (ALC) system
* Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and lift as required, on a continuous basis, with items that can weigh up to 75lbs
* Ability to work extended hours within a Data Center Environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA driven work rest cycles
* Requires ability to climb and use a ladder varying in types from A-Frame to extension ladders at various heights
* Understands the implications of work to make sound recommendations for solutions
* Consistently demonstrate and follow established procedures for assigned activities and collaborate multi-functional with teams as well as vendors and suppliers to achieve goals

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Information Systems
* 5-10 years of related experience in a critical environment
* Knowledge of DCIM systems such as Sunbird DC Track/PowerIQ
* Service Now
* Network - using TCP/IP suite of protocols especially SNMP and SMTP; understanding of C class subnetting; understand the use of logical well-known ports for privileged services
* Proficiency in switching, subnetting, & routing
* Experience with MS Server n-1 server administration and knowledge of server manager
