Responsibilities

  • Onsite support for US IDEMIA service centers with a possibility to travel outside the US for machine qualifications or other similar type of support.

  • Occasionally, interface directly with clients to explain or support technical aspects of a project. Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

  • Visit suppliers to evaluate or carry out the necessary tests to assess the capabilities of potential new equipment. Stay abreast of new industry equipment, technical processes, components and standards.

  • Develop documentation to support the design and development process, such as design specifications, design decision documents, engineering testing/analysis documents and reports, and well as verification procedures.

  • Carry out the acceptance or equipment qualification phases at the supplier and IDEMIA sites by anticipating, documenting and implementing the necessary tests and measurements within the constraints of costs, quality and time.

  • Coordinate equipment transfer between sites and / or suppliers by considering planning constraints.

  • Monitor the start of Production of installed equipment to collect Key Productions Indicators.

  • Collect operational data and user recommendations about installed equipment to define and propose improvement solutions. Challenge users and management for the implementation of those proposed solutions.

  • Design, manufacture, document and install electro-mechanical equipment modifications.

  • Support equipment maintenance Techs, usually troubleshooting and resolving issues that are more complex.

  • Support technical issues as well as industrialization of new products or new equipment. Focus is given on product personalization and fulfilment equipment such as laser engraving, drop on demand ink-jet printing, mail insertion as well as various packaging processes.

  • Compile and interpret data, drawing conclusions and recommendations. Help measure and identify the current machine throughputs and efficiencies within the operations, clearly defining the capabilities and suggesting improvement measures. Challenge users in implementation.

  • Write technical documentations (product specifications, equipment qualification documents, work instructions, control plans, manufacturing process settings, troubleshooting)

  • Carry out technical testing, economical and capacity study, to support investment cases. Challenge management and users for the installation and coordinate the implementation of corrective actions when appropriate.

  • Ability to work independently or within a multicultural, team environment.

  • Coordinate and support other assigned equipment and related projects.

  • Typically requires BA and 2-4 years.

  • Experience in industrial production processing of card personalization, mail processing, paper or print processing industry or similar types of automated equipment is a must.

  • Strong communication, project management and organizational skills with ability to support multiple simultaneous projects

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to fix or repair as needed.

  • Very strong knowledge and hands on aptitude of engineering disciplines, systems and processes such as mechanics, electronics, soldering, wiring, sensing devices, optics, PLC/installation and programming, barcodes and scanner technologies, automated vision inspection systems, labelling applications, PC/device networking, machine automation, robots, pneumatics, hand tools, precise measurement devices, minor fabrication, machine shop.

  • Experience with equipment qualification would be a significant plus

  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, SolidWorks (basic skills)

  • Strong MS Office

  • Fluent English (other languages a plus)

  • Knowledge in laser engraving, Drop on Demand printing, package design, lean manufacturing principles, would be a significant plus
