Position Summary Information
Provide advanced support for student information system with the PeopleSoft Academic Advising and Student Records modules as implemented at NOVA to ensure that delivered features and business processes meet college policy and operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide advanced support for student information system. The AA/SR Lead analyzes, configures, and tests various components of the PeopleSoft Academic Advising and Student Records modules as implemented at NOVA to ensure that delivered features and business processes meet college policy and operational needs; identify policy issues and recommendations related to software capabilities; prepare software specifications for modifications and system enhancements. Coordinates between NOVA and VCCS to modify PeopleSoft software and software set-up as necessary to meet college, federal, and state requirements. Prepares preliminary business process updates, written documentation and training materials. Provides advanced-level Help Desk support to research and resolve software-related problems. Leads and oversees the work of any part-time staff who may be assigned to the Academic Advising/Student Records modules.
BS in Information Systems, computer Science or related field or a combination of education, training and experience. Previous experience in System Software Application & Analysis .
Significant knowledge in People Soft Campus Solutions 9.0 or newer in the areas of Academic Advising and Student Records.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to analyze and solve problems in computer software set-ups Utilize technology to support the delivery of services Ability to enter data in computer tables, and identify and resolve data conflicts Ability to direct the work of others involved in setting-up enterprise software applications Ability to read, interpret, and explain policy implications of software documentation and set-up Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to make decisions and work independently Experience with the PeopleSoft Student Administration product .Strong customer service orientation Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with NovaConnect users and stakeholders Ability to write directions and documentation. Knowledge of college business processes.
