Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will identify component solutions to meet design performance requirements and quality expectations while driving technology strategies. This person will be a contributing technical member on new product design programs influencing component sourcing decisions.

AS A SENIOR COMPONENT ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Act as an internal technology specialist on designated commodities
Define global technology strategies and communicate technical product roadmaps
Influence New Product Development design engineers to optimize component selections and advocate Design for Sourcing
Build suppliers’ understanding of our technical and performance requirements
Utilize technical problem solving to resolve supplier related issues and non-conformances
Lead evaluation and approval of new suppliers and parts through Advanced Quality Planning (AQP)
Develop and maintain consistent component selection processes across our global factories
Lead programs designed to reduce total cost while maintaining quality
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. An ABET-accredited engineering degree is preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience is required for Senior role. Candidates with six (6) years of applicable experience will be considered for the Lead Senior role.
- This position requires technical expertise, leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the initiative to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Qualified candidates must possess excellent oral/written communication skills and a high level of self-discipline and organization.
- Component or design experience highly preferred.
