Purchasing /Inventory Control Representative (Phoenix, AZ):

SUMMARY: Responsible for purchasing for all branches, reviewing received orders, negotiating pricing & freight terms, and proactively navigating the overall purchasing process.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Issue stocking and special order purchase orders as required and ensure correctness of orders for all branches.
  • Follow up on all open or received orders to ensure proper pricing and receipt of product.
  • Review and close all outstanding purchase orders as required.
  • Create, update and maintain vendor records.
  • Arrange for and follow up on return materials request with vendors.
  • When appropriate, review and correct discrepancies in invoice price and purchase order price.
  • Negotiate better pricing, freight terms, and return material terms.
  • Create and managed request for quotes in a timely manner.
  • Uphold Auto Safety House terms and conditions with assigned vendors. Create, update and maintain part records, pricing records, and other part related information.
  • Follow up on special requests to modify existing records.
  • Maintain inventory levels for assigned vendors at required target levels.
  • Find buyers for slow moving inventory and coordinate with sales personnel proper communication with customers.
  • Review and update inter-branch orders to realign slow moving inventory to locations where sale will be most likely.
  • Address or correct process issues by developing new ways to do things and minimize waste.
  • Actively identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document and maintain procurement and inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Establish working relationships with all departments and branches of the company.
  • Continuously strive to improve the department and the company.
  • Handle customer problems in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Always keep a clean and professional appearance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to multitask while keeping on track to deadlines.
  • Moderate computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Pro-active attitude to implement or come up with effective solutions.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities simultaneously

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of purchasing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and knowledge of general office practices.
  • Position requires organization and ability to multi-task.
