JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Demonstrate good, basic knowledge of the, Controls, HVAC and Lighting industries.
  • Execute a service-oriented, consultative sales approach and reputation.
  • Work collaboratively with all Departments to analyze and expand business opportunities with a focus on sustained growth.
  • Monitor revenue streams and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Evaluating and improving sales, marketing, and branding strategies.
  • Develop, maintain strong client relationships and establish industry partnerships. Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities. Performs competitive analysis to provide management and ownership with information regarding opportunities to gain market share. Identifying clients by researching and creating networking opportunities.
  • Negotiating and closing projects that promote sustained revenue.
  • Liaising with all departments with the company to provide excellent customer service and support when needed.
  • Work directly with Estimating and Project Management to prepare and present proposals for, Controls, Electrical/Lighting, and Bi-Polar Ionization new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Work directly with the Construction Department to attend Owner's Training Meetings, HVAC Service, and Controls Service to identify building ownership information to prepare and present proposals for, Controls, HVAC, and Electrical/Lighting maintenance agreements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, submittals, installation instructions, owner's and maintenance manuals to be constantly updating industry knowledge and standards.
  • Motivated leadership providing cradle-to-grave development, proposing, negotiating, and closing projects with various scopes of work.
  • Execute sales strategies to provide maximum exposure of Colorado Controls, understand client objectives, articulate our value proposition, grow key clients, and expand cross selling project opportunities. Establish strategic relationships with related industry agencies to position the Company, create partnerships, identify potential opportunities, actualize business, and be awarded projects.
  • Select involvement with the community, professional groups, and media to enhance the Company's position.
  • Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly accountability reporting for lead generation, calls, proposals, and revenue generated.
  • Assist management with media placement recommendations to improve sales outcomes.
  • Meet with management quarterly to review progress.
  • Build a successful pipeline year after year of referral lead generation, proposals, and projects for sustained revenue growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Development, Marketing, or similar field preferred.
  • 5-7 Years of successful experience as an Account Executive in the Controls or a related industry.
  • Valid driver's license with no DUI in the previous 5 years, not major or frequent traffic violations including but not limited to license suspension, hit and run, reckless/careless driving, or multiple smaller infractions, excessive point accumulation in the previous 3 years.
  • Passion for business and market development, excellent customer service, and consultative sales. Advanced knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion.
  • Experience identifying and qualifying profitable business opportunities and potential clients.
  • Competency in negotiating, overcoming obstacles, and closing business deals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication to interact with professionals of every level.
  • Demonstrate computer skill proficiency with software applications for office, planning, and scheduling, demonstrate supervisory principles, scheduling practices, methods, organizational, planning, reading, and writing skills.
  • Possess a willing and flexible disposition because of the demands of shared work tasks with construction, service, controls, project management, estimating, system design, programming, graphics, and administration departments.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, willing, and trainable attitude. Ability to get along with and work well with people on all levels and departments within and outside the organization.
  • Must be able take ownership of and be accountable to the business development process.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
