We are looking for a lead technical expert within the controls engineering space. This is a fast paced company providing a challenging environment where new products are always in development and open ended problem solving is the norm. This job will have the candidate rotating between the production floor, vehicles, and an office environment and thus requires a person who enjoys that diversity. The position will require some travel to support vehicles deployed at customer locations. The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.The minimum requirements the candidate should fulfill are listed below:•Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Masters or PhD. preferred•7 – 10 years of relevant experience•Should possess at least 3 years’ experience in the field of Model-Based Controls Development using AUTOSAR methodology.•At least 3 years’ experience developing Software according to the ASPICE and ISO 26262 product development lifecycle.•Strong knowledge in development of control systems and specifications for purposes of automotive energy management and increased operational safety or performance.•Strong knowledge in commissioning and calibration of vehicle systems, including control algorithms or other software systems.•Must possess a strong understanding of vehicle electrical design and schematic layout, with focus on retrofitting conventional vehicles with advanced alternatively fueled powertrains.•Troubleshooting experience with tools such as oscilloscopes, multi meters, Vector CANalyzer, and general problem solving skills.•A strong understanding of vehicle sensors and associated I/O interface Experience with CAN connected devices and knowledge of CAN communication protocol •Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and work levels.•Data analytical skills in programs such as Excel and Matlab.•Component specification, testing, calibration, and operational validation as it applies to advanced vehicles and power solutions.Qualification:
Desirable Qualifications•Expertise in developing process based on safety standards ISO 26262•Experience in the data flow diagram (DFD), system and software architecture. •Experience in FTA, FMEDA, Functional Hazard and Safety Analysis•Experience in developing Technical Safety Concepts and System Safety Requirements.•Responsible to create System Safety Assessments.•Establish and maintain the safety case according to the safety plan.•Knowledge of closed loop testing of control models at various fidelity such as MIL, SIL and HIL.•Experience with high voltage DC bus design.The selected candidate will be expected to work in the following areas:•Use Model-based tool chain for controls development.•Work with advanced vehicle powertrain design and integration.•Work on medium and heavy duty vehicle platforms.
