Job Description

As our Shipping Supervisor, you will supervise all staff assigned to the shipping department (metering, pillow/tape, sorting, loading, and expediting of packages), and work to ensure the highest of standards are met in regards to both operations and customer service. 

Essential Functions:

  • Coaches, trains, develops and counsels employees daily on performance standards
  • Follows and enforces company policies, procedures and safe work practices
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and development of up to 50 employees
  • Develop staff skills and work to build a team environment
  • Timely completion of administrative duties to include; attendance and performance tracking, documentation of employee relations issues, recommendation of disciplinary action, staff scheduling and rotation of job duties
  • Completes annual performance evaluations on direct reports and recommends merit recognition
  • Investigates and completes accident/incident reports. Follows up with injured employees on light duty status to ensure compliance with physician restrictions
  • Promotes an environment that encourages employee engagement
  • Analyzes production reports to identify areas of success and opportunity
  • Motivates and communicates with associates to ensure specified operational goals are met
  • Communicates frequently with support areas to include Inventory, IT and other fulfillment operations/shifts
  • Works with and safeguards confidential information on a daily basis
  • Ensures compliance of all established housekeeping procedures
  • Works in a performance management environment

Here’s what you need to join the fun:

  • College degree strongly preferred or equivalent work experience
  • One year supervisory experience
  • OTC product knowledge and familiarity with production process is desired
  • General computer knowledge required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and/or in a team environment
  • Ability to respond with flexibility to changing work demands
  • Ability to walk or stand for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 35-50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently climb stairs to access assigned work areas and work in elevated areas up to 28 feet high
  • The ability to lift up to 60 pounds; up to 30 pounds overhead
