What You'll Do:
We’re looking for current juniors interested in a career in Information Technology and/or Supply Chain Process Management for internship opportunities in the summer of 2023 to support our tools, processes and capabilities surrounding Product Lifecycle Management PLM). As a part of the Summer Internship Program, you will participate in multiple aspects of the PLM tools and processes at Ferrara by assisting the IT Business Partner team with managing business requirements, understanding how to implement new processes supported through technology and learn about systems that support the New Product Development and Launch. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, networking events, and a final project, you will gain the experience to launch a successful Information Technology Management career.
Internships are competitive, 10-12 weeks in length, and will focus on a variety of exciting projects specific to the internship area. Through these projects, mentorship, exposure to leadership, and a final project, you will gain the unparalleled experience for your future career. There is a potential opportunity for full time offers following this internship. This position will be located in Chicago at the Corporate Headquarters in the Old Post Office
Ways you will make a difference
• This role will support Ferrara’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capabilities, including assisting with defining and developing new ways to leverage technology to streamline the New Product Development launch process.
• Through collaboration with business stakeholders in several cross-functional areas including R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, and Finance, understanding their business processes, as well as soliciting, defining, and analyzing requirements, you will assist with streamlining the company’s approach for managing new product launches and commercialization
• Developing business process designs and creating business blueprint documentation to improve new product launch project management capabilities
• Testing new software, implementing, and managing change activities with new capabilities within the New Product Development space
• Improve IT processes through documentation reviews, process creation, automation, metrics and streamlining
• Through exposure to Software as A Service (SAAS) and enterprise technologies, you will gain experience in Ferrara’s IT project management deliver practices including Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
• Learn from mentors at peer and leadership level
• Present final project to department leaders
• Learn best-in-class business practices from leaders in IT Business Partnership supporting our R&D, New Product Development and Commercialization (Industrialization) processes.
Experiences & Skills that will support your success
• Current Junior, majoring in: Information Technology Management, or Supply Chain Management
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and involvement on campus
• Excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Agile Thinker
• Demonstrated experience designing a new way of working or new process
• Excellent organization, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and high learning agility
• Use of Project Management Software a plus
