VP Employee Engagement

Purpose:

Company is in the midst of its biggest transformation, transforming from a printer company to one that is increasingly providing software and services and investing in new print and related technologies. The company’s new leadership team and its focus is creating a dynamic environment that will allow the right employee to work on a myriad of topics and issues. Given all the change in the company, communicating regularly with employees globally and renewing Company’s historical sense of community among them is important to future success.

The Vice President of Employee Engagement will oversee all internal, executive and employee engagement activities and tools. The role reports to the Chief Communications officer and will manage a team of about a dozen professionals. This leadership position will be based in Norwalk, CT, or NYC with regular visits to Norwalk  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create an employee engagement and communication strategy that rebuilds a sense of community among Company’s approximately 30,000 employees
  • Work closely with CCO and senior executives to motivate employees and improve business performance during period of change
  • Ensure leadership team/company is communicating in a consistent, clear way about the changes in the business and the culture we are creating
  • Take a digital-first approach to ensure employees understand the Company strategy, know the leaders and see themselves in the future
  • Work closely with the VP, External Relations to create and deliver 360-degree comprehensive communications plans
  • Collaborate with social media team to increase engagement and highlight Company talent and culture
  • Serve as an extended member of the HR Leadership Team and develop/deliver on CHRO executive communications platform

Education Requirements:

Graduation in specialized field (Example: Bachelors) Political Science, Journalism

Preferred: Master degree in specialized field (Example: MBA), Masters degree in Communications, Public Affairs or equivalent, is preferred

  • 15+ years of communications experience including managing through major culture/business change
  • Employee engagement and change management experience, including M&A or restructuring expertise
  • Loves people and can serve as both a voice of the people and voice of the leadership team
  • A strong communicator, writer and strategist
  • Politically savvy and diplomatic
  • Sound, strategic decision-making, based on analysis, experience and judgment
  • Creative problem solver, able to have a major impact without having a major budget
  • Flexible and able to navigate ambiguity and succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • High energy, collaborative individual who can manage teams while also rolling up sleeves and getting work done 
  • Adept at managing complex internal and external teams and relationships
