CG / LookDev Supervisor

THE THIRD FLOOR is the worlds leading visualization company with offices in Los Angeles and London as well as on location with productions around the world. Since 2004, the studio has helped clients visualize and maximize content by producing computer-animated blueprints, known as previsualizations. The Third Floor is a fun, creative company founded by artists, for artists. We work on extremely high-profile projects, while maintaining a small studio culture. The company has won multiple Emmy and VES awards for its work. Recent projects include WandaVision and Hawkeye, Wonder Woman 1984, The Mandalorian, and many more.
The Third Floor is seeking a CG / LookDev Supervisor to join our new Animation department. The CG / LookDev Supervisor will oversee the look of assets, as directed by the Art Director and Animation Department Director, and will collaborate with the Heads of Lighting & other departments. Utilising their technical skills and artistic vision, they will help create final looks for projects, yielding high production quality and help usher in the look process into shot production. Candidates should be familiar with Unreal, and Finals Animation/CG Pipeline.
Must be in the state of California, Georgia, Texas, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York (Outside NYC), Colorado, or Canada for remote positions.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the LookDev team in the creation of final looks for 3D Assets (including Characters & Environments)
* Work with Lighting & other departments to create workflows & keep up high production standards
* Feel confident in utilising their Artistic vision/flair to inform their workflow
* Brainstorm solutions for technical problems
Essential Skills:
* Expert in Unreal Engine & its pipeline
* Familiarity with Finals Animation/CG Pipeline, esp. for LookDev
* Experience with creating/working with stylized animation
* Familiarity with NPR (Non-Photo Realistic) styles
* Comfortable with Generalist skill set.
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of Python & Mel - coding
* Familiarity with C++ Programming
Personal attributes:
* Leadership, and comfort leading a team in a new department
* Owning Look Development for Anim Department, feeling confident in their vision & decision making
* Personable, people person - able to interact with all members of the team.
The pay scale is between $130,000 - $175,000 salary based on experience, skillset and other factors. Additional TTF benefits: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), Sick Time, 401k (staff only), PTO (staff only), and additional Perks & Benefits.
U.S. & Canada Applicants only: TTF participates in E-Verify and we will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employees Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
