The Senior Billing Analyst is responsible for analyzing billing data and ensuring accuracy of invoices and billing reports. Other duties include monitoring customer funding balances and aged receivables to ensure prompt payment. This position will also provide input for contract implementation as well as policy and procedure changes.
Analyzes, investigates and resolves billing discrepancies
Uses pertinent data and facts to identify, determine root cause, and solve billing discrepancies
Reviews and validates customer pricing, setup, and functionality
Performs queries on relevant systems or works with IT to develop reports, in order to gather data needed to analyze billing discrepancies and issues
Utilize results from billing resolutions to identify potential corrections to billing systems, tools, or processes
Assist with invoice preparation and reconciliation of billing to A / R; Monitor outstanding A / R balances and take appropriate action
Prepare reports and analyses as required in support of the monthly financial closing process and contractual obligations
Conduct monthly internal audit of invoices, and develop solutions to mitigate future discrepancies
Assist in development of new processes within Billing and other departments
Perform user acceptance testing of system changes
Associates Degree (or higher) in related field combined with 3+ years of billing experience
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook (ability to create and send emails), Microsoft Word (ability to create documents), and Microsoft Excel (ability to create pivot tables, charts / graphs, advanced data manipulation skills)
Ability to understand complex billing arrangements
Experience in a service or healthcare industry
Working knowledge of medical and dental terminology, ICD - 9, ICD - 10, CPT and CDT coding
SQL Report Writing, Power Pivot experience
Claims processing experience
National Career Readiness Certificate
Detail oriented with strong analytic and problem - solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
