Position Summary

Rexnord is seeking an outgoing and energetic personality to fill a Credit and Collections Specialist position within a shared services environment. The right person will work semi autonomously to maintain current accounts and reduce account delinquencies. He or she will play a major role in customer dispute resolution and work closely with internal and external customers to ensure payment or resolution of the accounts receivable portfolio. The ideal candidate will have worked in a shared service and credit granting position previously, preferably within the manufacturing or distribution sectors. Prior business to business collection experience is required to excel in this position.


  • Contact past due and current customer accounts to collect receivable balances and resolve pending disputes.
  • Follow up with past due accounts in a timely and consistent fashion.
  • Review aged accounts and credit files for credit limit increases or alternate actions.
  • Advise Credit Manager of potential risks to portfolio and payment obstacles on a regular basis.
  • Daily review of orders that have been placed on hold for prompt release.
  • Communicate with external and internal customers during the research of customer deductions.
  • Analyze and approve commercial credit applications.
  • Work well with and communicate consistently with internal and external customers.
  • Customer account and payment reconciliation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skill Required

  • 2-5 years of business to business collection experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be familiar with VLOOKUPs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills- be able to clearly communicate credit and account information in an easy to understand manner
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently
  • Manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Proactive mindset
  • Ability to initiate calls and conference calls in order to resolve internal or external disputes
  • Familiarity with commercial credit reporting
  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP desired, but not required.
