The Physical Therapy Assistant assist the Physical or Occupational Therapist in the provision of treatment, discharge planning, education and preventative rehabilitative care to patients in need of same. Services may be provided across the full continuum of care and should be rendered in a cost conscious, quality focused and customer oriented manner. The role of the assistant is to enable the provision of care that allows for the restoration or improvement of function while reducing dependencies and in the reduction and/or prevention of injuries. Accountable for regulatory compliance for documentation and charges as well as adherence to all system and department policies and procedures.
The Physical Therapy Assistant provides individualized, age-appropriate care in the field of physical therapy. Adheres to professional standards, codes of ethics, system and department policies and procedures. Incorporates the philosophies of continuous quality improvement, customer service and teamwork into daily routine. May require travel. Works under the direction of a licensed, Physical Therapist.
Required Minimum Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school with an Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Occupational Therapist Assistant
