Overview/Risks

The IT Product Manager is a liaison between IT, leadership, and the business units to facilitate and deliver innovative IT solutions. This role is responsible for consulting with various departments to identify, develop and deliver solutions that drive significant efficiencies and improvements across the business utilizing various application platforms. The IT Product Manager reviews, analyzes, and modifies software systems to support the needs of the business unit. Collaborates with the business to develop a long-term strategy and vision for the product. Demonstrates a high degree of proficiency, exercises independent judgement, and employs high-level critical thinking skills. Leads a team that works with our business colleagues to gather requirements, lead innovation, and optimize business/systems processes.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates technology initiatives for their specific business unit(s) by working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and improve product capabilities. Dedicated to keeping the customer at the center of all product and design decisions to improve the overall user experience. Provides a high level of service to their customers, always emphasizing partnerships approach.
  • Defines the long-term strategy and vision for their product in partnership with their business unit. Responsible for consistently gathering feedback, analyzing trends, and using that data to improve their product.
  • Analyze, develop, and document user requests/requirements through detailed software requirements, suitable for code development and for technology solutions and changes.
  • Manages the Business Analysts associated with their business unit to analyze and define requirements that meet the business needs. Works closely with the developers and IT QA to ensure the product is built to specifications and meets high quality standards.
  • Identifies critical issues with ease. Assess the functionality and usability of new technology through high-level testing and works with the client to guide the design of the product. Quickly understands the user issues and data challenges of clients (internal and external). Identify strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement pertaining to software solutions.
  • Coach and mentor employees on analysis practices, policies, procedures and technology related regulatory practices (FDA 21 CFR 11 - validated systems, etc.)
  • Manage employee performance and development activities. Responsible for selecting, hiring, training, evaluation and management of all team members that this role is responsible for, including communication and resolution of personnel issues with Senior IT Management and Human
  • Resources.
  • Lead project team meetings and provide MTF Management with updates regarding project status.
  • Participate in the development and oversight of project budget.
  • Coordinate with other Product Managers to ensure efficient resource management and prioritization of projects and changes. Collaborate with SMEs and technical teams to sequence work, develop implementation plans, and produce work effort estimates.
  • Assists in the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules. Assist in managing resources in accordance with project schedules. Maintain advanced technical skills through professional education and training thereby increasing the effectiveness of the IT department.
  • Foster a strong and positive work environment that encourages creativity, while maintaining high caliber productivity.
  • Function as a stakeholder on projects, participate in management decisions, and issue resolution.
  • Provide assistance and support to staff to support business needs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and work experience in a related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Comfortable communicating in new and unfamiliar environments
  • Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all tiers of the organization
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of the assigned applications and donation industry Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation capabilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail required
  • Fast learner who exhibits creativity and flexibility
  • Energetic, self-directed, and service-oriented
  • Capable of maintaining open communication with colleagues, peers and staff

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and trending
  • Proficiency in use of computer equipment required with advanced experience in windows environment Understanding of the technical architecture of business applications and platforms
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities gracefully under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently meet deadlines and produce work in a timely manner
