Vaco Memphis is assisting a client in Tupelo, MS in their search for a Director of Finance @ & Accounting. Manufacturing experience is required. Large, international company with opportunity for advancement worldwide. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Position Overview:

As an integral part of the leadership team this role will be responsible for leading the North American finance organization and partnering with the other business leaders to provide financial insights to drive the profitable growth of the business unit.


  • Lead the finance team responsible for plant accounting and control, including closing the books, financial & operational reporting and analysis, A/R, A/P, payroll, costing & annual audit
  • Prepare cash flow in accordance with corporate process and manage liquidity. Drive improvements in and implement ongoing maintenance/control procedures to reduce working capital (Inventory and AR) while supporting the process to improve customer service levels.
  • Be an active team member and contributor to the SIOPS process including inventory, capacity and labor planning. Support SIOPS manager in driving significant improvements in the SIOPS Process.
  • Work with management team to identify, validate and drive profitability and cash flow improvement initiatives on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide decision support to sales and operations business leaders (make vs buy, customer bids, capital investments etc.)
  • Analyze trends and provide early warning guidance on potential risks and opportunities to operating performance.
  • Prepare and communicate in-depth financial analysis of monthly results.
  • Work cross functionally to prepare annual financial plans and periodic reforecasts.
  • Full ownership and management of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Provide superior direction and control to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and associated analysis.
  • Directly manage & mentor a staff of three direct reports.
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with Corporate and regional personnel.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
  • 10+ years related experience
  • Direct experience supporting a plant with heavy direct/hands-on experience in cost accounting activities including standard cost setting, manufacturing variance analysis and inventory valuation.
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Background with international company, preferably U.S. multi-national
  • Strong analytical and PC skills (Oracle, SAP/BPC, Excel)

  • Demonstrated experience managing cash flow and cash flow forecasting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing working capital improvement and maintenance process and controls including formal collections and Past DU reduction processes, reductions in inventory, reduction and control of E&O inventory, vendor management.
  • Experience developing and implementing systemic reporting processes to provide better management insight into business performance and to automate/simplify regular reporting, analysis and control processes.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to navigate and flourish in a global, matrixed organization; expresses thoughts clearly, is an active listener and a "team player".
  • Strong communication both orally (informal & formal presentations) and in writing at all levels of the organization.
  • Is energized by the opportunity to drive continuous improvement, by building exceptional teams, processes and systems to support personal, team and Company objectives.
  • Ability to adjust priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
