Duty Free Physical Education Teacher Assistant (Grade: PK-5) Base Calendar

* Assist in conducting intensified learning experience for students in assigned area and relieves teacher of various non-instructional duties
* Assist teacher in the management of student arrival and departure time
* Perform supportive tasks for a certified teacher that is primarily non-instructional in nature
* Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities
* Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
* Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activity
* Assist in filing, organizing materials for distribution and recording information
* Assist in maintaining student records, attendance and files
* Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
* Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
* Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment
* Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification
* Proficient in basic communication techniques and language
* Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents and the general public
* Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
* Must possess good writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and employees
* Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world
* Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
