Relationships, Innovation & Performance.This Automation Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician position provides electrical / mechanical support in response to operational changes resulting from the malfunction, breakdown, relocation, replacement or other existing mechanical systems and / or equipment. You'll conduct preventative / corrective maintenance on all automation equipment essential to the automated processes within the Mail Order Pharmacy. The Automation Equipment Technician is also an instrumental part of the planning team during the installation or modification of new or existing equipment.Primary Responsibilities:Optimize equipment readiness through planned Preventative / Predictive / Corrective maintenance programWork with established maintenance and inventory proceduresWork both independently as well as part of a teamSubject Mater Expert within the Automation Maintenance groupAssist Team Lead and Supervisor in training of junior personnelPerform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, devices and componentsTroubleshoot, routinely inspect equipment and electro - pneumatic control as necessary on automated equipmentInstall new equipment including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and computer systemsMechanical expertise to include, but not limited to precision alignment, tensioning fastener and belts, lubrication, lacing and tracking of belt systemPerform data entry to generate work orders for repair, replacement parts, PM program, inventory data and machine historyAssist Supervisor, Team Lead and Operators in resolving process problem that affect the quality of the productPossess a sense of urgency on troubleshooting and repairing equipment for minimal downtimeCommunicate to upper management on status of equipment downtimeMaintain preventative maintenance schedules by thoroughly documenting all issues, repairs, parts used, recommendations etcAct as First Responder for all operation needs relating to production and application issuesReduce machine down time, improve throughput and overall performance of machinesMaintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders using CMMS systemPerform machine ownership responsibilities on assigned equipment in an effort to exceed expectation of ensuring equipment is in proper working condition to meet safety, quality and productivity expectationWork in tandem with IT, Engineering as necessary to solve difficult technical issuesMaintain technical knowledge by attending scheduled educational workshops, reviewing technical publicationsMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsUse / operate power and hand toolsOther tasks assigned by management
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED (or higher)3+ years of experience in the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of an automated manufacturing or distribution line1+ years of experience in the use of measuring and testing instruments1+ years of experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (SMMS)1+ years of experience with PLC, automation control, electrical, mechanicalAbility to troubleshoot electrical / mechanical / pneumatic issues when they occur on the line including, but not limited to, installation, diagnostic, calibration, maintenance / repair of equipment and electronic devicesMechanical: Align bearing and drive shafts, replace motors and gear boxes, troubleshoot belt drives, and motorsPneumatic: Connect circuit, determine and correct failures of solenoids, cylinders, and switchesSensor: Troubleshoot photo - eyes, proximity switches and other sensing devicesExperience using Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) including the ability to open, create, edit, save, and send documents and spreadsheetsAbility to work 2nd shift 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm including nights and weekends as neededSoft Skills:Analytical and problem solverExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOptumRx is an empowering place for people with the flexibility to help create change.
