Process Engineer

Evonik Degussa Antwerpen NV Lafayette, IN (Onsite) Full-Time
Derived Salary: $77K - $130K/Year

Provide process engineering support for established processes. Analyze data and initiate continuous improvement.

  • Design, implement and support new process introductions, scale-ups, or process modifications.
  • Manage ESHS, quality, cycle time, and equipment availability requirements.
  • Work closely with customers and project teams.
  • Proven technical expertise in core process engineering disciplines such as mixing, material science, heat transfer, mass transfer, filtration, and drying.

Understand site capacity constraints and identify projects to streamline and remove bottlenecks to increase productivity.

  • Provide recommendations regarding near and long-term capital planning in order to support equipment reliability, new processing equipment or technologies, new chemical handling capabilities, and/or industry competitiveness.
  • Serve as project responsible to implement improvements as identified above.

Stay current, and be recognized as a resource on regulations, engineering standards, policies and procedures, and good engineering practice.

  • Drive continuous improvement of business processes within the site.
  • Technical expert for Plant specific systems.
  • Writes and/or assists in the writing and technical review of production policies and procedures.
  • Review/Approval of engineering technical documents.
  • Develop and assist others to efficiently and accurately execute all job responsibilities in area.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, related engineering, or Chemistry discipline.
  • 10 years prior chemical or pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • Experience in several production facilities with different scales and technology platforms.
  • Skills in successfully overcoming challenges and identifying opportunities for improvements.
  • Possess both the technical knowledge and practical experience to solve complex process engineering issues.
  • Keep informed of latest technology in order to make recommendations for change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to influence groups without having supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong computer skills in a variety of software packages.
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering and business principles.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
