Director, Business Development, Commerce with Security Clearance

Amentum Chantilly, VA (Onsite) Full-Time
Amentum is seeking a US Department of Commerce, Business Development Director
Reporting directly to the Division Vice President, this leadership role will be responsible to grow a suite of Commerce agency accounts and to identify, qualify, and prosecute opportunities within your assigned portfolio
You will focus on expanding the out-year pipeline through active deal development, identification, and qualification efforts to create growth potential for new capability or client sets, as well as the protection of recompetes
You will compete in both incumbent and non-incumbent workstreams, think critically, and strategically strengthen the competitive posture of Amentum
This position will lead strategic teaming efforts and leverage strong industry relationships, including competitors, niche capability firms, and small businesses
You will lead and facilitate the development, delivery, and presentation of white papers and drive technical and acquisition client call plans and other outreach efforts to qualify and inform pursue or no pursuit decisions
The successful candidate will develop, qualify, and pursues a growing pipeline of opportunities to win work and generate revenue and profit in accordance with defined business targets
Specific responsibilities include:
• Identify, qualify, and secure Commerce business opportunities; coordinate business generation activities; develop customized targeted sales strategies.
• Build Commerce business relationships with current and potential clients.
• Understand Commerce client needs and offer solutions and support; answer potential client questions and follow-up call questions; pre-position solutions to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
• Collaborate with key business area leaders to secure, retain, and grow accounts.
• Create informative presentations; present and deliver information to potential clients at client meetings and industry exhibits.
• Maintain a pipeline of all sales administration using CRM Microsoft Dynamics software.
• Collaborate with management on sales goals, planning, and forecasting; maintain short- and long-term business development plans
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in technical or business-related discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant DoD/Federal Business Development experience
This experience must include: 5+ years of relevant US Department of Commerce Business Development experience.
• Understanding of the US Department of Commerce and industry stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to execute the Business Development Director function.
• Track record of building winning solutions with awards >$50M.
• Track record of successfully negotiating with potential team members as part of an initial "gap analysis" assessment.
• Ability to assess the competitive field, to include all evaluation factors, both price and non-price.
• Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to clients and senior executives.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance
Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree.
• Active Secret US Government Clearance
