We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Labor and Employment Corporate Counsel


This role will contribute to our growing in-house legal team and work on complex issues in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel – Labor and Employment. The Labor and Employment Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to internal departments on employment, benefits, compensation, and pre-litigation matters.

  • Counsels clients on employment law issues, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, and benefits.
  • Conducts investigations, drafts responses to administrative charges, and provides input on policies, procedures and employee handbooks.
  • Keeps up to date on new and pending federal and state legislation, rules and regulations, and industry developments in the area of employment law.
  • Advises and collaborates with key leaders to develop new processes, identifies and mitigates legal issues, and assists in crafting solutions to protect the company's interests.
  • Conducts legal research and analysis to provide recommendations and prepares written opinions and guidance for management teams and other internal clients.
  • Drafts and reviews employment agreements and independent contractor agreements.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, consulting, drafting and negotiation skills with the ability to make well-reasoned legal and business judgments and clearly explain complex ideas.
  • Assists with special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for adhering to Information Security Policies and ensuring Envision is as secure as possible.
  • Effectively manages outside counsel, as needed.


  • Licensed attorney holding a J.D. from a top-tier law school with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legal Research Tools (i.e. LexisNexis)
  • Matter Management/eBilling Software
  • High-level analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong project management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage a variety of projects simultaneously, meet aggressive deadlines and successfully handle urgent situations with patience and diplomacy
  • An agile and flexible thinker, with the ability to learn emerging areas of the law and the business quickly
  • Ability to function independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to build credibility quickly and provide strong legal support for a complex and challenging business, while positively and successfully managing relationships within a diverse group of stakeholders
  • A commitment to personal and professional growth, and receptivity to feedback

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in immigration law
  • Experience with ERISA

Certificates and Licenses (if applicable)

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state
