Job Description

FLEXIBLE - Must be out of a Society Office.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our national Services team as an Financial Assistance Administrator.

Process financial assistance disbursement requests utilizing Society policies and procedures

  • Follow up on obtaining required W9 documents from vendors
  • Enter required data into eProcurement program necessary for accurate check disbursements by A/P team
  • Work with MS Navigators to ensure clear communication on required information for the check distribution process
  • Monitor anticipated notifications from A/P and the eProcurement process to ensure information is processed in a timely manner
  • Document check distributions in Financial Assistance spreadsheet to expedite access to specific constituent and vendor information
  • Maintain awareness of all timelines and deadlines to ensure timely distributions of financial assistance check disbursements
  • Work with A/P on discrepancies or other issues that interfere with the timely distribution of check disbursements
  • Complete financial assistance workflow process in data warehouse
  • Follow eProcurement protocols for canceling check orders
Process case management vendor payments
  • Enter required data into eProcurement program necessary for accurate check disbursements by A/P team
  • Monitor anticipated notifications from A/P and the eProcurement process to ensure information is processed in a timely manner
  • Complete case management workflow in data warehouse
Other duties as assigned by Financial Assistance Manager, or AVP Operations

Job Requirements

MInimum Education: 
  • Associates degree
MInimum Experience: 
  • High School diploma plus Five years' experience in A/P can be accepted in lieu of an Associate's degree.
Technical/Other: 
  • Working in databases and payment processing systems.
  • Competency in Microsoft office software, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Understand the MS Navigator vision and roles that result in financial assistance distributions for people affected by MS.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of the National MS Society
  • (IF APPLICABLE) This position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines.
  • (IF APPLICABLE) Availability to work occasional nights and weekends to support events, committee meetings, etc
