Land Surveyor (Office - Lake Forest)

Mayers & Assoc Lake Forest, CA Full-Time

* Valid Professional Land Surveyor's License in the State of California, or LSIT and the ability to obtain PLS within one (1) year
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in preparing Legal Documents for Residential Subdivisions, i.e., Tract Maps, Parcel Maps, Legal Descriptions & Plats, Easement Documents, Lot Line Adjustments, etc.
* Ability to work under a licensed Land Surveyor with many years of experience
* Valid Driver's License with Insurable Record
* Good Written and Verbal Communications Skills
* Non-Union Position


* Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for Land Surveying applications
* Experience working as a Field Surveyor on Land Development Projects (Chainman or Apprentice Level)
* Ambitious - "Desire to gain experience and advance"
* Familiarity with the California State Plane Coordinate System and GPS
* Experience working in the County of Riverside, CA
* Record of increasing levels of responsibility
* Willingness to work over-time as needed


* Prepare Tract Maps, etc. under the direction of Project Managers and the Director of Land Surveying
* Provide Horizontal and Vertical Control Information to Field Technician for Survey Staking Set-Up Calculations
* Draft various Survey Documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other CADD software
* Assist in Processing Plans and Documents through County Surveyor and Other Responsible Parties
* Review Title Reports, Easement Documents, Existing Maps and Other Legal Documents
* Perform Closure Calculations and Prepare Submittal Back-Ups
* Calculate GPS Adjustments
* Write Legal Descriptions & Sketches
* Assist with Tract and Parcel Boundary Research
* Coordinate with Clients, Project Managers, Designers, Field Survey Crews and Title Companies


* Negotiable (Hourly) - Minimum of 40 hours per week


* Over-time Pay (1½ times hourly rate)
* 2 Weeks Paid Vacation per Year (3 Weeks after 5 years)
