Lakewood Ranch Medical Center’s $28.5 million expansion project is well underway! Local officials, dignitaries, physicians and hospital and community leaders kicked off the multi-phased construction project with a momentous groundbreaking. The expansion project will accommodate our growing community’s needs and add capacity for future growth.
Plans include adding new space and redesigning existing space to provide:
- Two new operating rooms
- Shell space for two more operating rooms
- An additional heart catheterization lab
- A new advanced MRI system
- An additional technologically-advanced CT scanner
- An expanded and enhanced surgical waiting area, preoperative space and post-surgical space

The Plant Operations Lead will independently and collaboratively perform preventive and corrective maintenance functions on all hospital infrastructure equipment such as servicing Air Handlers, exhaust fans, pumps, ice machines, nurse call systems, PA systems, cooling towers, door lock assemblies, patching/painting, and other tasks associated with an acute care hospital.
The Plant Operations Lead is a self-starter with the ability to work on and troubleshoot electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other major utilities. Other requirements includes experience with commercial fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems and Life Safety compliance.
This position requires above average experience with Window Word, Excel, Power Point, energy management software, work order systems, ILSM, ICRA and PCRA processes. In addition, the Plant Operations Lead performs security functions as necessary during day shift hours and as needed, off shift hours.
It is highly preferred that applicants possess CHFM credentials for this position.
High School Graduate. CHFM credentials preferred
Minimum of 4 years maintenance related work experience in a healthcare setting
Qualified for at least one professional trade; electrical, plumbing, electronics, HVAC
Current AHA BLS, CPI (required course within first 90 days) Florida Driver’s license
Communication and interpersonal skills, mid-level computer skills, Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Power Point. Excellent customer service skills required
